André Lemaire, director of the tennis academy
In 1976, André Lemaire participates in the development of the "Club de Tennis Carrefour in Saint-Jean-sur- Richilieu" and becomes the head pro.
In 1980, he becomes the head pro at the "Centre Sportif Carrefour Laval." The club grows rapidly. André Lemaire moves on to become the head pro at Tennis 13 in Laval.
André graduates in sports administration from Michigan University, being director of a tennis club is his vocation. He then moves on to become director and head pro of the "Centre Sportif Carrefour Laval," a position he occupies until 1992.
He is named trainer of the year in Quebec in 1987 and in 1990, as well as trainer of the year in Canada in 1989. He is the only trainer to receive the prestigious title "trainer by excellence" in all disciplines attributed by "Sports-Quebec." Furthermore, in 1990, he received the "Emeritas Exceptional" given by the Canadian Trainers Association.
In 1987, he organizes the first tennis sports study program in Quebec and supervises high level athletes on the international circuit. It is under his supervision that Sebastien Lareau and Sebastien Leblanc win Wimbledon in England and Roland Garros in France. Sebastien Lareau climbs to the top 100 in the world.
In 1998, André leaves the competitive circuit to focus on the teaching and training method that he developped on the international tennis circuit.
For the last 6 years, André has been running the André Lemaire International Tennis Academy at Mont Tremblant. He has developed an enthusiastic and loyal following because of his personalized and dynamic approach. |
